Walk

There’s always a few weeks during early spring where I want to wear “springy” outfits, but it isn’t warm enough for flower dresses and sandals. I always struggle to find a way to adopt spring trends while staying relatively warm. And I have to be careful not to freeze in the evening– here in Denver, it can be 70 degrees at 5 pm and drop to 40 degrees in an hour, when the sun sets (it’s a high desert, so we’ve got huge temperature differences between day and night). A good way to dress warmly but still look inspired by the season is to wear light coloured-denim with a white t-shirt and a pastel scarf.

I love light hues during spring, I find them so refreshing. I’m currently in love with my new lace-up flats from Banana Republic. I especially love how they make any outfit more interesting!

I’m still wearing one of my amazing t-shirts from ONNO, which is a really good base layer for these chilly nights. I was walking to happy hour with Chelsea and Zia (my pup), and was trying to teach her how to high-five me. Not sure she gets the difference between “shake” and “high five” yet, but we’re working on it!_DSC9440_DSC9443_DSC9452_DSC9410copyDo you have any tips on putting together spring outfits that will actually keep you warm? What are your go-to pieces during early spring?
