In my efforts to maximize the cost-per-wear of my wardrobe, I tend to avoid pieces that are rather impractical, such as thick ponchos. Because let’s be honest… they’re cool, but they’re also very warm while having short sleeves. I tend to get cold when my arms are exposed to the wind. So there’s only a very short window for me to wear that type of garment.
But oh well. Sometimes, I just like a good statement piece and this one isn’t trendy to the point that it’ll be out next year (fingers crossed). I can also wear a leather jacket underneath (I’ll show you that in a future post) to get a few more weeks of wear.
For more poncho/cape inspirations, watch Ton Petit Look in the next few days.
This entire outfit is Free People. I can’t help it, I just love most of their line. They’re opening a gigantic new store in Denver next week and I’ll hopefully be there to cover the event, I’ll keep you posted.
What do you think of ponchos? Would you wear that, or is it too much for your style?
